CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP

A member may choose to join a chapter where he/she currently resides, or a chapter in the area from which their ancestors migrated. Click here for additional chapter information. PUBLICATIONS

The Palatine Immigrant is published quarterly. It contains articles relating to the life and time of the immigrants and their European ancestors. There are also articles about research methods and resources, reviews of current publications, as well as records of members immigrant ancestors. More information here.

The Palatine Patter is our member’s newsletter and is published four times per year. It contains information about national and regional activities of the society, and other groups of interest.

Chapter publications: Most chapters publish a newsletter for all members of the chapter.

WEBSITE
WEBSITE (www.palam.org): Members only section on the website is available to members of the society but excludes Institutional Memberships. Currently it contains information on over 100,000 ancestors as reported by members in the Ancestor Chart Project.

GERMAN RESEARCH RESOURCES
PAL AM LIBRARY COLLECTION: The Pal Am book and series collections are located at the Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) in Columbus OH, contains 5,000 volumes devoted to German genealogy. Members and non-members may visit the library at no charge.

MEMBERS RESEARCH COLLECTIONS: These collections are research that members have made available to Palam members for their use. The collections are housed at the Palam headquarters. The collections may be used at headquarters or you may request a Palam researcher make copies for a small fee.

CONFERENCES
ANNUAL NATIONAL CONFERENCE: Held in June each year this 2-day conference includes speakers, seminars, resource persons and fellowship with other members. Register Now.

CHAPTER CONFERENCES: Each chapter presents a one day seminar in the spring and fall to make possible more fellowship and to provide easy access to workshops and research within an area.

GENEALOGY DATA
IMMIGRANT ANCESTOR REGISTER (IAR): Members research and submit their immigrant ancestor information to the society. This information is filed for periodic publication in the Palatine Immigrant. The IAR information is currently being added to the Members only section of the website.

ANCESTOR CHARTS: Members may submit their ancestry as far back as possible on a series of charts. Publication of indices to these charts is an on-going project. A searchable database of more than 100,000 records is available at the Pal Am Headquarters in Columbus, OH and online in the Members only section of the web site.
