Indiana Chapter, October 2, 2021, Fall Meeting

Fall Meeting—Dr. Roger Minert
Dr. Roger Minert will be the speaker at our Fall Meeting on 2 October 2021. He will give four presentations: Surnames in German-language Regions of Europe, Civil Records in Germany, A Day in the Life of Your German Ancestor, and Resi-dential Registration in Germany.


Dr. Minert is an internationally renowned genealogist and retired Professor of Family History and Religious Education at Brigham Young University. He is widely recognized as one of the preeminent authorities in Germanic genealogy in the United States. His areas of expertise include German family history research, German language/dialects in old vital records, German and paleography. Among the books he has published are German Immigrants in American Church Records, a series that now encompasses 27 volumes in 10 states, includ-ing Volume 1, Indiana Protestant. His most recent book is German Residential Records for Genealogists: Tracking Your Ancestor from Place to Place in Germany.
