Founded in 1824, HSP is one of the largest history libraries in the nation, showcasing collections on regional and national history, and offering a manuscript collection renowned for its holdings that span from the 16th to the 21st centuries. HSP also holds one of the largest family history collections on the East Coast, containing genealogical material from every state east of the Mississippi River. With more than 21 million items in their collections, from diaries and letters to deeds and directories, HSP is one of the most complete and professional genealogy centers in the nation, and the largest in the Mid-Atlantic region. Katy will talk specifically about the German-American resources available at the Library.

Katy Barnes is the Director of Genealogical Services and Programs at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She holds a B.A. in Family History and Genealogy and has over a decade of experience as a professional client researcher and national genealogy lecturer.
