Dr. Minert will provide an update on his ongoing project, which addresses one of the toughest challenges faced by American family history researchers: finding documentation that proves an immigrant's hometown. To facilitate this, Dr. Minert has been sponsoring and supervising a team of students who read German church records and collect genealogical data.

Since the project's initiation in 2003, 38 volumes have been published, and over a hundred students have been employed.
