We are pleased to announce the resumption of the Ohio Chapter’s German Community Forums. On September 14, 2024, from 10 am until noon, our presenter will be Thomas Shannon, president of our New York Chapter and the town historian for Germantown, New York.

He will speak about how to make the best use of our Hank Jones Collection. Renowned genealogist Henry Z Jones Jr. was looking for a new home for his vast library of German genealogy in late 2021. He very generously donated it to the New York Chapter of Palatines to America, which arranged for it to be housed and available to the public at the Germantown Library in Germantown, NY.

Digitization of Hank's voluminous correspondence is almost complete. Tom will show some of the highlights of that soon-to-be-available resource. Additionally, Tom will discuss the lost cemeteries of both East and West Camps. The above ground remnants of these original Palatine migration era cemeteries were obliterated many years ago.
