Looking for descendants of Franz Friedrich Dammann, a carpenter/cabinet maker, born in Neuenkirchen, residing in Cleve, government district of Minden, with his wife and four daughters, aged 11, 7, 6, and 3 years. Have found passport from 1833.


"In order to relocate in North America, will travel from Cleve through Bremen to North America.


Has been found to be not suspected of any illegal acts by the local police chief, has been granted this passport, and all civilian and military officials are respectfully asked to allow the bearer of this passport and his above described companions to travel free and unmolested through their territories, and if necessary be granted their protection and assistance...

William DIGMAN/DICKMAN, Muster Roll of 3' Independent Company, Worcester Co., MD, enlisted 3 Feb 1776, present 20 Aug 1776. Is this the same William DIGMAN living in Frederick Co., MD 1781 whose 5 children were baptized (1781-1789) in Middletown Zion Lutheran. Church, Frederick Co., MD?

William DIGMAN & wife Nancy Hannah [Anna] DIGMAN lived in Frederick Co., MD in 1781. Seek info on parents & where they were born. The 1790 Frederick Co., MD census showed Ann DIGMAN, widow, but no record has been found of William's death. Their oldest son was Charles DIGMAN, born about 1780, but where?

Was there any special treatment/rules, etc. governing German soldiers who may have conic to America to fight for the British but "deserted" and/or fought for the Americans and remained in America after the war? Neither William DIGMAN (above), nor the various German couples who were sponsors for the DIGMAN children, owned land, had wills, etc. The only records found for them have been church records.

Drutschel, Johan Heinrich

Seeking parents of Johan Henrich Drutschel (1821-1872) born  in Bavaria probably Lichtenfels where all the other Drutschels that came to America in the 1840's and 50's and later came from.  He arrives in the Port of New York 15 Jan 1850 aged 29. He was a jeweler and/or watchmaker. Possible siblings include: David born 1824, Micheal born 1829 and Gottfried born 1832. "Henry" had a wife and two children in Bavaria: his wife, Barbara Reinlein (1819-1875) and daughters, Barbette b. 1848 Altdorf bei Nuremberg, Bavaria, and Kunigunde Caroline b. 1850 Bavaria.  Barbara Reinlein Drutschel was also a jeweler. Their son, George Heinrich was born in New York City in 1855. Answer found on Archion Evangelical Lutheran Churchbooks Online ($$$). Heinrich Drutschel was the oldest son of the master fisherman, Johann from Lichtenfels. Heinrich was Catholic, but because he was marrying a Lutheran girl, Barbara Bauerlein, daughter of Johann Bauerlein(Brauerlein), he was married in Altdorf bei Nurnberg where she lived.

On board were his brothers Hans Michael & Hans Jacob & father-in-law Phillipp DUFFORT. Possibly his wife Anna Clara & infant son Johann George were aboard also. After arrival surname was changed to TERRYBERRY. Were they Palatines? If so, are they recognized in any Palatine literature as such?
