Family lore holds that he arr America 1734, 36 or 37; that Jacob settled near Shrewsbury, was a farmer, and lived to be 100 years of age.

Seek info on James/Jacob RODE (b June 1817 Hesse Cassel, Ger.), mar Mary ? (b 1823 Hesse Cassel, Germ.). Children: Anna/Annie RODE (born 1848 Hesse Cassel, Germ.), & John RODE (b 1856 Baltimore, MD). 1900 census states Jacob RODE was a piano maker at a piano factory in Baltimore.

Annie RODE mar Peter KRAUSKOPF (b 1840 Baltimore, MD), a beer saloon keeper in 1870 census. They moved to Washington, DC, where Peter KRAUSKOPF d abt 1878; Annie then mar her bro-in-law (Peter's brother) Charles KRAUSKOPF before 1880. Mother of Peter and Charles KRAUSKOPF was Christine (b 1816 Prussia/Germany). Have not been able to locate passenger ship or naturalization papers. Most of this family came to Washington, DC, and are buried in Prospect Hill Cemetery, a German Cemetery in Wasbington, DC.

Oral family history suggests he was the gr-f of John RAMER (b 1790 NC), also that the RAMER-RAIMER family was Pennsylvania Dutch. Two RAMER brothers separated in TN & one went south. Mine are from Covington Co., AL, migrated abt 1850 to Tyler Co., TX. A John RAMER (b 1798 TN) has the same family history except he returned to TN after going to AL; the TN Ramers state they're from Ramersdorf in the Palatine area of Germany.

I would like to know more about William Rupert. Mr. Rupert was probably born in Germany around 1755, and was first found in the United States in Frederick County, Maryland. He was a prosperous land, sawmill, and gristmill owner. After buying land in Columbiana County, Ohio, he migrated to Beaver Creek Township in Clarion County, Pennsylvania, where he spent the rest of his life and died in November of 1831.
