St. Vinzenz in Illerich, Cochem-Zell District, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, is a Parish church serving a municipality of approximately 724 people located in the Eifel of the Moselle valley.

Illerich was first settled in 1180; beginning in 1794 Illerich came under French rule until 1815 when the Congress of Vienna assigned the municipality to the Kingdom of Prussia. Since 1947, Illerich has been part of the state of the Rhineland-Palatinate.

The Illerich community is heavily focused on promoting physical outdoor recreational activities such as hiking to the many historical abbeys, monasteries, and castles. The community also takes pride in promoting its fine gastronomy. The St Vinzenz Church honors the lost sons of the community with a memorial plaque for WWI and WWII.

The mother, Katharina died at child birth 3 October 1832. A. Barbara Kremer married Jacob Munch and migrated to America in 1854.”

Ancestors of the Kramer and Munch families were parishioners in this church and received spiritual benefits through sacramental blessings. Hand-written ledgers documenting these blessings are in Latin, German or French and are available at the church, diocese office, or other archives.
