Palatines to America German Genealogy Society (PalAm) is a non-profit organization that exists to help its members and other genealogists with their research on their German-speaking immigrant ancestors. PalAm collects personal information, such as your name, e-mail address, address, and telephone number through its membership lists and databases. This information is supplied directly by members on a volunteer basis. You do not have to provide personal information to use publicly available portions of the PalAm Website.

PalAm uses Personal Information collected only for performing normal business operations such as keeping you informed of PalAm benefits and events by email and postal mail, shipping products, and related accounting tasks (such as billing and collecting funds). PalAm does not sell or share information to any third parties. User personal information will only be used for approved PalAm business.

PalAm uses our members’ contact information to respond to inquiries, issue The Palatine Immigrant and The Palatine Patter, provide information or for other Society-related purposes. PalAm may provide information that we obtain from you with other members; however, this will be done only as required for sharing genealogical information or other information you may have provided to PalAm. We do not share any such information with third parties for commercial or other purposes.

If your membership lapses, we may retain your contact information in PalAm archives so that we may contact you in the future about information you have provided to us. Also, we may disclose your personal information if we believe that we are required to do so:

  • to comply with legal process or legitimate requests by the government, or
  • to protect the rights, property, or safety of the PalAm Website, databases, their users, or the public.
